Parent Visa
This visa allows the parents of an Australian citizen or permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia temporarily or permanently.
Visa Requirements:
In order to apply for this visa, parents must:

Meet the balance-of-family test. It means, most of their children must lawfully and permanently live in Australia.

Be sponsored by one of their children residing in Australia for at least two years.

Have an assurance of support.

Applicants for Contributory Parent visas should pay a high application fee, over AUD 40,000, to cover their medical expenses, but have less waiting time, up to 4 years, than ordinary Parent visas applicants as they should wait up to 30 years before their visas are approved.
