Skilled-Recognised Graduate visa (subclass 476)

This visa is a temporary visa for recent engineering graduates of the recognised Non-Australian universities. This visa allows you to stay for up to 18 months in Australia to gain the skilled work experience.

Visa Requirements:

In order to apply for this visa, you must:

  1. Be under 31 years of age when lodging the application
  2. Have completed a bachelor or higher degree in engineering from a recognised non-Australian education provider in the past two years.
  3. Meet the language ability requirement if you:
  • are a citizen of the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, the United States of America or the Republic of Ireland or you hold a valid passport from one of those countries;
  •  or  have achieved :
    • an overall average of 6 and at least 5 in each band in IELTS Academic or General Training test  ; or
    • B Pass in each band in Occupational English Test (OET); or
    • an overall average of 50 with at least 36 in each band in Pearson (PTE Academic); or
    • total score of 64, with at least 4 in Listening and Reading, and at least 14 in Writing and Speaking in TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test); or
    • 169 overall average with at least 154 in each band in Cambridge (CAE).
  1. Have Good health and character.

Including Family Members:

You can include the following family members in your application:

  1. Your partner
  2. Your dependent children or stepchildren

What this visa lets you do in Australia:

This visa allows you and any family member migrating with you to:

  1. Live, work and study in Australia for up to 18 months.
  2. Travel to and from Australia while a visa is valid.
  3. Apply for permanent or provisional visas if you met the requirements.
