Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

The Skilled Nominated visa is a permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia indefinitely. This visa is points-tested and requires nomination by an Australian state or territory.

Visa Requirements:

In order to apply for this visa, you must have:

1. An occupation that is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills or Short-term Skilled Occupations List.
2. Obtained a suitable skills assessment for your nominated occupation.
3. At least competent English.
4. Received a nomination from an Australian state or territory for your nominated occupation.
5. Lodged an EOI and been invited to apply for this visa.
6. Not turned 45 years of age when you received an invitation to apply.
7. Achieved the pass mark on the skilled migration points test, currently 65 points
8. Good health and character.

Including Family Members:

You can include the following family members in your application:

1. Your partner
2. Your dependent children/stepchildren or your partner's dependent children/stepchildren

What this visa lets you do in Australia:

This visa is a permanent visa and allows you and any family member migrating with you to:

1.  Stay in Australia indefinitely. However, you are expected to live at least two years in the state or territory that nominated you for this visa.
2. Study and work in Australia.
3. Enrol in Medicare.
4. Sponsor eligible relatives for certain temporary or permanent visas.
5. Apply for Australian citizenship when you meet the citizenship requirements.
